Leana!!!!
Wow we've been talking about you leaving for California so long that my brain is having a hard time catching up to reality! I remember the first time we hung out - I had just started going to City Fellowship and still felt out of place. But you were the first person who really reached out to me and asked me on a coffee date. Leana, living with you in that awesome apartment was just fantastic. Before you asked me to move in with you and Hannah, I didn't have anywhere to stay and zero plans, but you were an amazing blessing when I really needed some grace. Thanks for trusting and encouraging me and sharing your life with me. I'll remember those cookouts we had (BEST grilled chicken ever), that late night game of Quelf (the evil has vanquished us!), and when you honored me by serving my wedding cake.
I know with absolute certainty that you are moving to CA to follow God's lead in your life, and I am humbled by your faith. I know it's been hard for you to say goodbye, and I will miss you terribly as a sister in Christ and a friend. But I can't wait to hear what God has planned for you! You are full of love for God and people, Leana, so go bless the socks off of people and kids in Tahoe, like you've always done for me. And have so much fun! Oh and I hope you'll have ample floor space in case Nick and I want to come visit you :)

Well Smalls I guess this is it. Your about to leave soon and I don’t really know how I could try to even explain what the last two years have meant to me. I just want to let you know that your friendship has meant a lot to me. We’ve been through a lot some good some bad but we have it through. I’m going to miss all our times hanging out watching boy meets world and eating burger king. It’s gonna be hard to say goodbye so I’m not going to cause this isn’t goodbye. I know this hard for you but I admire what you’re doing. If you need anything you know you can call anytime. Remember that no matter what happens God will always there watching out for you. Also remember when you go San Francisco make sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

I still can't believe you are choosing California over the beautiful Jackson, TN. We are certainly going to miss you and your smiling face. I know that God is doing great works in you, and He will continue to do great works in California! We will be praying for you periodically and ask that you do the same for us. Movie nights will be so quiet without you around! I am just glad that we will still get to see you every once in a while when you come back and visit! Now, if we can just get Michael to share those $20 plane tickets then we can come see you, too!!

The Bennetts
Dear Leana, it has been a blessing to know you all these years! You will be sorely missed. I appreciate your servant's heart in caring for the many families of Northbrook, as well as at City. I know you have many times put your own agenda aside to help others. It would have been easy for you (or anyone else your age) to expect the older people of the church to seek to meet your needs, but without hesitation, you have fulfilled that role for others time and again. You have invested in so many peoples' lives- especially kids. I, for one, am the better for having known you, and my kids as well. You are genuinely gifted at working with children of all ages, because you seek insights into each one of their personalities. I know that in Tahoe you will hone this skill- as well as seeing them as God sees them. I wish you well, and will miss you.

I remember so well the day your family became my neighbor. Your were just a baby! For 20 years I watched you grow and wouldnot trade one minute of it. All the campouts on my patio, ballgames and you and Tiff just hanging out in the pool. Even remember er visit my child caused, Christmas mornings and fourwheel rides with you two covered in mud nothing but your eyes showing. What can I say??! I have a handful of "kids from another mother that I claim as my own" and you are indeed (ooh, a "Cody" word! :) one of them! Anyone I scorch like a lobster while on vacation to the beach with the Rowlands falls under that category...:) I am so proud for the beautiful, confident, obedient, Christian young woman you have become, and am very thankful that my kids got to spend time with you over the years and hopefully glean some of that from you. I know your momma is gonna miss you like crazy while you are out there, but she also knows that you are answering God's command for your life, and is so stinkin proud of you, as we all are, and Tahoe IS driveable, and we hope you will visit when you can! I think Trista and I will very much miss your heavy duty Crockett Co. drawl, and teasing you incessantly about it....I'm quite sure you will not lose that while out west, and it will only endear you to your new friends even more! :)
You take care of yourself and those kiddos out there, and we will take good care of Kayren back here, and ATTEMPT to keep her sane and out of trouble while you are gone...(no promises, tho...!)

Hi, Leana. What a wonderful blessing God has afforded you: a chance to serve in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I know you will have a great experience; but, we will miss your sunny disposition and great sense of humor. Be sure to take advantage of the skiing there in the winter and in the summer, there are some wonderful hiking trails with rivers and creeks to cool off in when you get tired. I used to babysit in the Tahoe area for the summer when I was a teenager. Our church youth group used to arrange skiing trips in the winter. Like you, I had a wonderful mother who did everything possible to give my sister and me opportunities to experience all of God's blessings: both fun and spiritual. Have a wonderful time. First of all might I just say that no matter what anyone tells you, or who keeps the girls after you, you are irreplaceable. You have been our lifeline for SO long I am not quite sure what we will do after you are gone. Who else will bathe my kids, make Savanna do her homework and let Sophia scramble her own eggs? (And even if Savanna doesn't admit it I know she will miss you dearly.) We have had an incredible time getting to know you over the past few years, and I am proud to say that I taught you how to use a whisk, prep pork loin, stuff chicken and several other cooking tricks that I hope you remember ;). Show off your mad skills when you get to Tahoe! I will miss our babysitting bartering system, our late night chats in the kitchen, and our not so serious conversations with Carol in the catering world. (Your balls are bigger than Carols.) No matter where I am, I promise to cater your wedding, make your cake, and attend the ceremony. (Is that possible? Really?)

First of all might I just say that no matter what anyone tells you, or who keeps the girls after you, you are irreplaceable. You have been our lifeline for SO long I am not quite sure what we will do after you are gone. Who else will bathe my kids, make Savanna do her homework and let Sophia scramble her own eggs? (And even if Savanna doesn't admit it I know she will miss you dearly.) We have had an incredible time getting to know you over the past few years, and I am proud to say that I taught you how to use a whisk, prep pork loin, stuff chicken and several other cooking tricks that I hope you remember ;). Show off your mad skills when you get to Tahoe! I will miss our babysitting bartering system, our late night chats in the kitchen, and our not so serious conversations with Carol in the catering world. (Your balls are bigger than Carols.) No matter where I am, I promise to cater your wedding, make your cake, and attend the ceremony. (Is that possible? Really?)

I am so glad you were at City Fellowship a year ago when I moved back to Jackson! I've really enjoyed getting to know you over the past year, and it's truly wonderful to see God work in your life. I am glad that you are following where He has called you somewhere, however challenging that may be, and I know that he will only continue to illuminate your path as you go. He has equipped you for a good work, and he will accomplish that work through you. It is good and joyful to see you treasure Christ above all else!

You are an awesome witness to anyone who knows you. You are always smiling, and always positive and I just love that about you. I want to be like you when I grow-up.
Please know that you are very loved and that prayers go ahead of you as God has already "prepared a place for you". I believe with my whole heart that He does that for us not only when Jesus went ahead of us to do so, in our death....but that God provides and prepares great things for us in our life. He is so pleased that you trust and obey Him in submission and with such great joy and love.

Remember when we first met? Yeah me either! But I'm pretty sure it was on a ball field in the heat of summer. I was horrible but you loved me anyway! Many years of our teams enduring my uncoordinated body purposely walking because if I did happen to make contact, it wouldn't go very far and I'd get out. We were just young and dumb and I miss it. Hours upon hours on the phone talking about absolutely nothing along with making life plans and wedding plans and picking out baby names and none of them have come true. And I'm glad for that. I'm glad that somewhere along the way, the Lord intervened. I'm glad that at some point down the road, our paths were crossed with people to disciple us in a way that we realized that this life is not about us. I'm most grateful for that! And I love that you are following hard after the will of the Lord...all the way to California!! I love you and I am so proud of your stepping out on faith, obediently fulfilling God's big plans for your part in furthering His Kingdom!

The Pflasterer's
Leana, your adorning is the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's eyes is very precious (1Peter 3:4). You open your mouth in wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on your tongue (Prov. 31:26). For these reasons, and so many more, we've been very thankful for the time you've spent investing in Natalie, helping her to grow to become the same kind of woman you are. What a blessing you've been to our family and to our church family! We are thankful God chose to let you be at City during these first few years ,and we continue in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving (Col 4:2), as He sends you to Tahoe. You are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that you should walk in them (Eph. 2:10).
